Mike’s Beach Resort is a family run venue that’s also the newest resort in Dauin, just 15 minutes south of Dumaguete. Our eight rooms are only meters from the Beach as is our lagoon pool with waterfall. Our goal is to provide you the highest quality holiday experience and our comfortable size means we’re never too busy to succeed.
Most guests board our private boat to visit the stunning paradise of Apo Island only a short ride away. This premier dive site is one of the oldest and best managed Marine Sanctuaries in the world. Huge shoals of fish and sea turtles are common. Closer still are the dives at Dauin, rapidly gaining respect as one of the best macro-photography sites anywhere.

Mike's Dauin Resort is very clean, stylish and comfy. Lots of places to hang out with the group or be alone.

The staff can only be described in one word- awesome! You could not want for a thing. Each meal was a masterpiece of flavor and beauty. The dive staff are such a hard working crew and had everything set up nicely. I didn't even put on my own fins! I said I feel like Cinderella and from then on out- that was my nick name with them. I told the dive guides, Gabby and Ace that I wanted to see a seahorse, a cuddle fish and a frog fish. They pointed out all three! Even a flamboyant cuttlefish! And that's just to name a few. These kids sure knew these reefs! They both were very professional and obviously concerned about safety of all divers.

The boats were well maintained and very roomy! Heading to the other island to see the whale sharks or Apo Island you were very comfortable on these longer rides. They brought full lunches and lots of great fruit. Motion on rough seas was not really an issue on these large, well stabilized boats.

My husband and I cannot wait to get back. We didn't have enough time to walk the beach, hang out in the amazing pool or check out the surrounding area. We had a ball! An absolute ball! Mike and his staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome, like family. Honestly, one of the nicest resorts I've been to. We look forward to a visit again as soon as possible.

Room Tip: All rooms had an ocean view. All are close to the dining area. Very comfortable.

Best value by far!!! Great staff, excellent food, great rooms, and the diving was stellar. Flexible dive staff really worked with my needs. We brought our kids ( young divers) and they had a blast. Will go back for sure. Species of macro life that you just can't find elsewhere!

Mike's is a small family run resort right on the beach. I think it has 8 rooms in a 2 storey building with beautiful wide shady balcony with fans, cushioned chairs and footstools to relax and enjoy the sea views , pool view and tropical gardens. I stayed 3 nights.

Mike's may not have many rooms, but each room is spacious, comfortable and extremely clean with a large bathroom and cable TV plus both A/C and large ceiling fan. I ate at the restaurant often and the menu is extensive; Philippines, Mexican and international choices. I found the food about the same as everywhere I stayed in the Philippines (Breakfast 250p, chicken sandwich 220p, beer 60p, dinner approx 350p)

Mike has 2 big dive boats, I went snorkelling to APO island one day (1250p) and although not a diver, the boat/dive crew looked after me and made sure I had a great day snorkelling. Thankyou to Tom, Sarah, Ace, Junior and the rest of the crew.

Also, 10 minutes walk away is the Dauin marine sanctuary where you can go snorkelling and see turtles. You must pay 50p fee and the guys that collect the fee are really friendly and helpful pointing out which area to see turtles.

Mike and Joeann are such friendly and happy people and they have obviously hired the right people to provide a great friendly family atmosphere throughout the entire staff. Everyone that works there was up for a chat and genuinely cared about how your day was going. Even Lola the dog enjoyed a bit of company and a scratch behind the ears.

I only wish all my accommodation in the Philippines could be as good as Mike's. I gave them five stars but this does not seem enough, I would give them six if I could.

Transport - Moalboal to Dumeguete - A/C bus from Moalboal to Bato (72p), Trike from Bus depot to port (25-30p), fast boat to Negros (72p). Port to Dumeguete (Jeepnay 11p), Dumeguete to Dauin Jeepnay terminal (Trike 9p), Jeepnay to Dauin (21p), Trike from Mike's to Port (300p)
