DescriptionCIAO BISTRO AND COFFEE TALK AT THAVORN PALM BEACH RESORT BEACH SIDE ITALIAN DINING IN KARON BEACH.
Ciao Bistro and Coffee Talk are the latest additions to Thavorn Palm Beach Resort’s long list of dining options, which now has six restaurants and bars to its name. With Thai, Russian, Mexican, and now Italian cuisine at Ciao Bistro, this long-established Phuket holiday residence is without doubt one of the most happening resorts on Karon beachside.
Opened in March 2014, Ciao Bistro and Coffee Talk are two sides of the same coin: the former is a large open-sided restaurant with front terrace overlooking the sea where guests can enjoy top-notch Italian favourites; the latter is a glass walled air-conditioned coffee-shop serving classic Italian drinks like quality espressos, cappuccinos and more.
Ciao Bistro & Coffee Talk - Atmosphere & Décor
Ciao Bistro is a spacious venue that can comfortably host up to 80 guests with some simple yet stylish décor blending modernity and antique Roman touches. Dressed in warm yellow and white, with dark grey furnishings made of acrylic water hyacinth, the restaurant remains casual and has all the assets of a cool venue for lunch or dinner whilst on holiday. The front terrace is already a great sundowner spot, although the hotel’s management plans to transform the restaurant’s large flat roof – not used at the moment - into an open-air dining terrace.
Coffee Talk is a small and cosy coffee-shop set right in front of Ciao Bistro. Designed in a modern style, it is just the right place for guests to check their mails – Ciao and Coffee Talk feature complimentary Wi-Fi connection – while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee or a soft drink. The unobstructed view of the vast Andaman Sea is emphasized through the glass walls of the venue.
The menu at Ciao Bistro has been entirely concocted by a genuine Italian Chef who's included various dishes from all over Italy. The excellent antipasto (calamari fritto – deep-fried squid with tartar sauce at 355 baht) is feel-good Italian food at its best, whilst the range of salads (insalata Ricotta – tomato and Ricotta cheese with basil leaves at 290 baht) and light pastas (different varieties around 290 baht) offer something a little less heavy. This Karon Beach restaurant also scores highly for its pizzas (wood fired pizza quattro stagioni – four seasons – at 335 baht) as well as its substantial main courses like their osso bucco (braised veal shank served with baby potato and sauté vegetables at 1,095 baht) and desserts like their irresistible il pirata tiramisu al café (mascarpone cheese mousse flavoured with espresso and marsala wine at 230 baht).
The drinks-list of both venues features a great choice of mocktails, smoothies, iced tea/coffee/chocolate, and cocktails (Chor Muang – tequila, blue & orange Curaçao, fruit juice at 255 baht is especially recommended) and offer a perfect refreshment while watching the sun disappear behind the Andaman Sea on the horizon. Summing up, Ciao Bistro Italian restaurant and the sleek Coffee Talk are both vibrant beach side family-friendly venues offering an authentic slice of Italy in a sumptuous Phuket setting.
