Ok and fine for an evening.... But quiet”

Stayed there for a night before a trip to isla canela. The positives the rooms were clean, modern and comfortable.. The check in fairly smooth and good service when requesting extra pillows. Menu selection poor and service hit and miss. Don't bother with breakfast.... Go explore

Very close to the airport. You can also walk into town(50 mins at a good pace) which would save you taking the car. I can't see why you need to show TWO passports for a couple when the following day in Porto they only asked for one.

Handy stay at Hotel Ibis”

We picked this hotel as a stopover. We were landing very late in Faro so decided to stop here for one night, instead of getting transfer to Praia Da Rocha. We then caught the train to Portimao the following day very relaxing journey. At the end of our holiday we did the same thing in reverse order, spending a day in Faro. Hotel Ibis is fine for one night stays, staff friendly, rooms small but clean. We found beds and bedding very comfortable for a good nights sleep.Breakfast was alright buffet style. but as dining room filled up with people it became a bit manic, noisy and not very relaxing.Hotel is a bit far out of town its a taxi every time, you can walk to the large shopping centre, but we did not and I would not advise it. Very busy road and very dangerous in places. We came across a serious road crash when we were in the taxi. The crashed car had ended up on the so called pavement. Need I say more. For what the Hotel cost and the taxi and the train and another taxi at portimao, it was still cheaper than a taxi transfer on the night we arrived. So work out the math.Faro is a nice town to wander around ,try out the mini golf in the park in the centre of Faro across from the police station great fun 1 euro per person.
