“Good, tasty and mild Thai food for a memorable dinner.”
Kao Kalb Kang is s neighborhood family restaurant just 5 minutes walk from the Shangri-La Hotel. The owner was personable and involved in selecting dinner choices. Wonderful seasoned fish in tamarind pepper sauce was a hit. Mangoes with ice cream and sticky rice were great desserts as well. This was a peaceful and quiet meal option when compared with the many other Thai restaurants at the nearby Night Market...
“Family Restaurant in Chiang Mai”
We had two wonderful meals here while in Chiang Mai. The owner served us himself while his family prepared food in the kitchen. We tried several dishes from the hottest and spiciest Thai food to more western flavored Thai dishes. Our rice was served in the shape of a teddy bear - so cute. But the pork, chicken and seafood dishes along with the vegetables were all so delicious. It was hard to decide so we tried them all. The owner is a lovely man who, recognizing some travel weary Americans - offered bowls of chocolate ice cream for dessert! My favorite of the Chiang Mai restaurants.
“Tiny Restaurant near the night markets”
Our guide took us there first but we went back twice more. Loved the little chicken baskets and the sticky mango and rice. Lots of tourists drop in but we would eat there then meander to the night markets. Really worth a visit
