“Wow A Must for any one traveling through Chaing Mai”
Fellow hotel guests told us about this gem of a resturant. Situated with in the old walled city.
Close to the south moat.
Very clean well decorated restaurant with friendly staff. Food stunning tasty and least one of the party should try the soft shelled crab with curry.
Dinner for two including cocktails for as little as £5 a head.
A must if your on Holiday in the city.
We stumbled across Spoon de Best on our first evening at Chiang Mai at around 8pm. First impressions of the restaurant was the green, welcoming decor. We ordered some western dishes as well as Thai specialties. The food was served promptly and courteously by the modest owner, its quality (in terms of taste and presentation) easily suppressing those in the UK, at a fraction of the prices.
Highly recommended to visitors in the old town area. Can't wait for my next visit!
Me and my wife ate on this small restaurant based on the rating on TripAdvisor and while I appreciate the presentation of the dishes however, the food taste OK at best. We ordered grilled beef and soft shell crab. The beef seems to have been reheated as it was not hot as expected when it was served considering we requested it to be "well done". The softshell crab was OK but felt Thai Express has better version of the food. The guy which I supposed is the chef is very accommodating and even took our orders but his lone staff (during our visit) that supposed to take orders and payments is a bit out-of-focus and busy using his laptop/tablet instead of accommodating the customers.
