“Stumbled in, stumbled out!”

We came across the Monkey Kitchen whilst I had made a wrong turn on the way to Hang Dong, it looked very nice from the outside so we decided to give it a try. We were ushered up stairs to a table, the 5 or 6 tables in the downstairs restaurant were either taken or reserved, that looked promising for a Saturday lunch. After 10 minutes a waitress brought us the menu, it looked rather interesting with some nice concoction's, one of the dishes we ordered was a Tom Yum spaghetti. However after another 35 minutes no food had arrived, I called the solitary waitress who was serving both up and downstairs and was told we are busy, I complained to her and 5 minutes later a rather bleak salad arrived which I had ordered for myself. Another 5 minutes we received the remaining dishes. The spaghetti was indeed tasty and so was the pork dish, however waiting nearly an hour is not what I would expect. The restaurant needs to increase the amount of servers for starters and then perhaps customers will see an improvement!

“Wedding evening reception”

Very nice set of food put together for family. Very nice and cool atmosphere. Staff was very nice and could speak English very well.

“Poor translation of western food”

It seems that most Thai cooks have an idea of what western food should taste like and then they try to put a thai spin on it, which results in a weird result. For example the mushroom fettuccini we ordered was way too sweet.. almost dessert like. I've noticed that Thai cooks always add too much sugar to everything. The signature pizza was decent but too expensive for that it was. The crust was unimaginative and the toppings were barely there. Everything should have been at least 30% cheaper for the quality of the food presented.
