“Good location and ambience, Merely average food, bad value.”

We reserved a table for three at the Terraces at 6PM so we could be there when the Sun went down. First impressions were very good - The rice terraces and infinity pool allowed for some great photos. We ordered à la carte and though the prices were a little expensive, we didn't care - this is a Four Seasons after all.

We ordered some beers which were served in small cans and cost 230 baht each, but again we weren't too concerned. We knew it wasn't going to be cheap, although we would have preferred not to have beer served in cans.

The real disappointment was the quality of the food. Our three mains were at best average. No flair in the presentation, in fact nothing at all to differentiate the food from anything you could get at a quarter of the price at a nice place in town.

This is in stark contrast to somewhere like Farang Ses at Dhara Devi, or DK's Kitchen, both of which were also better value, and had much better service too. At DK's Kitchen for example, we received a complimentary glass of wine on entry, impeccable service and the owner David himself came out to speak to us during the meal, which was of a far higher quality.

The Terraces is not in the same league, setting wise, service wise, and definitely not quality of food wise as either of those restaurants. It's 'just another hotel restaurant', but with the hotel being a Four Seasons, we had expected more.

Beautiful setting. Superb service. Thai food adapted for western palate.”

Beautiful setting overlooking the rice terraces. Ask for outdoor seating if weather is suitable. Attentive service as you would expect from a four seasons property. High quality thai food which had been adapted for western palate (this can be a negative for me).

“A Lush Lunch”

Had a lovely lunch on the peaceful terrace overlooking the stunning tropical landscaped grounds of the Four Season Hotels. Superb service, lovely food and very good value for money.
